ln order to limit the excessive growth of macroalgae Ulva sp. on the beach of Kervijen (Bay of Douarnenez, Brittany, France), a field experiment was carried out, whereby part of the flow of a river was diverted into a coastal marsh. Results showed that the major part of spring and summer, Ulva proliferations have been suppressed. Part of the nitrate transported by river flow was consumed. The coastal marsh produced phytoplankton which regularly flowed on the beach
Une expérimentation de dérivation d'une partie de l'eau d'une rivière au travers d'un marais littoral a permis d'éliminer presque totalement la prolifération printanière et estivale d' Ulva sp. sur la plage adjacente de Kervijen en Baie de Douarnenez. Une partie des nitrates a été consommée, et le marais a produit du phytoplancton qui s'est déversé régulièrement dans le milieu marin.
